Custom production for established brands

Ray Products supports packaging programs that extend beyond the seven FORMAT structures. Work can include original rigid-box construction, folding board, cut-and-sew products, shopping bags, structural and visual development, warehousing, fulfillment and distribution.

Each project begins with the product, quantity, budget, timing and operational requirements. The structure and production method are then developed around the complete brief.

Capabilities

01

Custom rigid boxes

Original rigid-box structures are developed around the product and production requirements.

Available constructions include two-piece boxes, shoulder boxes, binder boxes, clamshells, drawer boxes, trays and slipcases. Projects can incorporate custom inserts, printed or specialty wraps, foil, embossing, debossing, spot finishes and interior printing.

Rigid-box production takes place at the Ray Products facility in Parsons, Kansas.

Folding board

Ray Products produces folding-board packaging for products that require a lighter structure or flat-shipping format.

Applications include sleeves, tuck boxes, auto-bottom cartons, simplex structures and custom folding inserts. Structural development, artwork preparation and sampling can be coordinated with the rigid-box program.

Cut & sew

Cut-and-sew products can be developed as independent pieces or as part of a coordinated packaging program.

Applications include dust bags, garment bags, tote bags, cosmetic bags and pouches. Fabric, size, construction, closure and branding are specified for the project. Options can include drawstrings, zippers, printed branding and sewn labels.

Shopping bags

Custom paper shopping bags provide a coordinated retail or presentation component.

Structures can include standard bottoms, inverted folds and ribbon-tie closures. Paper, handle, color, printing and finishing are specified to coordinate with the primary packaging.

Design and development

Ray Products’ creative and production teams develop packaging with manufacturing feasibility in mind.

Services can include concept visualization, structural design, dielines, artwork preparation, mockups, sampling and retail packaging systems. Existing concepts can also be reviewed and adjusted for production on the Ray factory floor.

Fulfillment and logistics

Manufacturing does not have to end when the packaging is complete.

Ray Products operates warehousing and fulfillment in Parsons, Kansas, beside its production operation. Programs can include storage, assembly, product insertion, pick-and-pack fulfillment, full-pallet shipping and distribution.

For ongoing programs, Ray can also provide branded ordering portals and coordinate ERP or API integration for inventory, pricing and order information.

One operation from production through distribution

Keeping production, warehousing and fulfillment close together reduces the number of handoffs between the approved package and the final shipment.

Depending on the program, finished packaging can move directly from production into storage, assembly, pick-and-pack fulfillment or bulk distribution. Requirements are established with the quote and production plan.

Ray’s central U.S. location supports distribution to retail locations, business customers and individual recipients across the country.
